Anyone with a smartphone knows the challenge: we taken gobs of photos on our phones. Some are loaded onto Facebook or Instagram, while the majority of them just linger on our phones, largely forgotten. If we’re lucky, we occasional scroll through and spot a smile-making memory and think “I really should print this out.”
Well, some very smart cookies have created a subscription service that will take care of this for you.
“Recently is a subscription service to receive a monthly magazine with your best photos from your camera roll. It will cost you $9 a month with each magazine showcasing 100 photos,” writes Romain Dillet in TechCrunch.
“Once you have the iOS app, the startup will ask you to review your camera roll once a month. If you have more than 100 photos, the app tries to automatically curate the best ones first.
“You can then manually select and remove pictures, but this step is totally optional. Once you’re done, you hit upload and that’s it. A paper magazine will show up on your doorstep a few days later,” Dillet explains.
Nine dollars a month? Are you kidding? Who wouldn’t want this?
What we really love about this is the format. We all have those boxes of prints that still need sorting, scrapbooking or “going through.” The last thing I want is another package of 4x6s. But a monthly glossy printed magazine I can casually drop on my desk? You bet.
At the moment, it looks like this is iPhone only, but I predict they’ll announce the Android app soon.
