A few months back we presented a great font in the grotesque category, a design style that’s straight and uniform rather than inspired by calligraphy. This week, we’ve got another one for you.
Rakesly by Typodermic Fonts Inc. is a condensed design influenced by the grotesque-style headlines common to 19th-century typesetting. The free family includes 12 weights plus italics. It’s great for headlines, and also works well in text when you’re short on space, due to its variety of weights. Find it a Fontspring.
Our second pick this week is Cyntho Pro in Regular & Italic, created by Mint Type, an indie foundry in Kiev, Ukraine. It’s a modern, geometric design with real italic, and includes stylistic alternates and small caps. Cyntho Pro is great for everyday typesetting in styles ranging from corporate to casual. Find it at Fontspring. If you like it, download the matching slab serif version here.
No matter the style you need, we strive to bring you a great selection of options each week with our Free Font Fridays. Come back next week, and please share the love with the font designers and foundries that make all this possible.
