I know, I know … focus has been a challenge this year. Still, the work goes on and we need some clear heads and fresh thinking to inspire us. So this week we found two absolute gems to share, perfect to pull out of your design kit whenever you need some motivation to get the work done.
First up is Tradesmith, a free vintage font from the 1871 Project. (Check them out … they have other great fonts you might want, too.) This font has a great balance of vintage and industrial, with its squared characters and cut-off corners. And it comes with a Stamp style, perfect for that handmade feel. Download free for personal or commercial use from PixelSurplus.
Next is Holtzberg, another vintage font, this time with a more rounded edge. Created by Jeremy Vessey, this font has a subtle texture combined with a vintage type form that makes it perfect for industrial-style or artisan logos, headers and packaging. Download directly from Jeremy’s site at JeremyVessey. (The download is free, in exchange for signing up for their newsletter.)
