Finding the right font for a project is always a creative challenge. Then once in a while, you find a find and just know you have to find a way to use. That’s what I felt when I saw both of these free font picks for this week.
Badhead from the design studio of Ian Mikraz features stylistic alternates, ligatures, and ornaments for easy customization. It’s a script, but not in the traditional sense. In fact, it’s great when you want a script that’s more edgy than pretty. Download free from Pixel Buddha.
Another script I like is Variane Script from Indonesian design shop Workinstudio. It features fluid, handwriting-inspired script reminiscent of the 1950s. It’s great for adding a fun, retro style to your design, and would be perfect on greeting cards, advertising or promotions. Download free from 1001 Fonts.
