A Friendlier Alternative to the Same Old Fonts – Our Free Font Fridays Continue

It can be hard to find the right balance between friendly and professional. Too formal and you lose the personal appeal; too casual and you run the risk of looking amateurish. So we were excited to run across Sant’Elia by Yellow Design Studio in Sanibel, Florida. Described by the designers as “a good-natured type family,” it evokes the carefree and artistic attitude of its home on the Gulf Coast. The font features both regular and rough versions, with swashes and stylistic alternates included. It’s great for adding some friendly personality to a design. Try it on postcards, flyers, or social media graphics; the rough version can add a nice vintage, faded print feel. Download for free from the good people at Fontfabric.

Looking for something a bit more elegant? Try Cormorant by Catharsis Fonts. The refined design was influenced by the classic Garamond typeface, so it’s familiar yet still fresh, with sharp serifs and smooth curves. This large and versatile type family includes six styles in five weights. Try it when you need a yclassu, elegant look at display sizes, while maintaining excellent readability at text sizes. It’s suitable for both print and web, and optimized for high-resolution printing and display. Find it at Font Squirrel.
