The art of typography is a fascinating study in art and science, in good design skills and the impact of art on the human brain. We are continually amazed by how the right font can set a mood, tell a story, change minds, all with barely saying a word.
If you want to improve your skill in working with fonts, or just love looking at well executed design, try these two resources:
- MyFonts.com claims to be the world’s largest collection of fonts. I can’t dispute it. In addition to a font finder and their clever “WhatTheFont” forum, they offer two monthly newsletters that are sure to get spark your creative fire. Sign up here and enjoy.
- At Freeport Press we get pretty geeked about fonts too, so we created a Typography board on Pinterest with examples of great font applications we’ve seen. Follow the board for updates; we’ll continue to post new things as we run across them.
