Like Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes, Twitter social media diva Claire Diaz-Ortiz is a huge fan of traditional print magazines.
Diaz-Ortiz subscribes to 15 print titles, and says while she doesn’t read each one cover to cover, she does read most of the articles.
“I think magazines are a great way to learn and grow, and I’m convinced that any business leader can gain from reading a few on a regular basis. Here’s why:”
“Magazines are short.” As Diaz-Ortiz notes, magazines are a great way to read a lot of high quality content without committing to a lengthy book.
“Magazines get us offline.” She notes that magazines are meant to be read in print. And especially in her world, disconnecting becomes increasingly difficult, rare…and blissful.
“Magazines are fresh and timely.” With shorter publishing cycles than business books, the ideas are fresher, more current and offer more and wider exposure.
So what are her three top choices for business readers?
“Fast Company, Inc. and Entrepreneur.”
Great picks, and a great commentary on the value of print no matter what your industry.
